Volumes jump at TTK Prestige counter, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Infosys, GlaxoSmithkline Pharmaceuticals and Opto Circuits (India) are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 3 June 2013.
TTK Prestige clocked volume of 3.59 lakh shares by 13:40 IST on BSE, a 60.56-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 6,000 shares. The stock lost 1.04% to Rs 3,490.
Torrent Pharmaceuticals notched up volume of 1.13 lakh shares, a 9.47-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 12,000 shares. The stock surged 4.75% to Rs 824.10. The stock hit a record high of Rs 871.80 in the intraday trade today, 3 June 2013.
Infosys saw volume of 4.34 lakh shares, a 6.67-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 65,000 shares. The stock surged 4.38% to Rs 2,513 after the company announced on Saturday, 1 June 2013, that the company's board has appointed Mr. N R Narayana Murthy into the board and executive leadership of the company. The board approved appointing Mr. N R Narayana Murthy as Executive Chairman of the board and Additional Director for a five year period with effect from 1 June 2013.
GlaxoSmithkline Pharmaceuticals clocked volume of 82,000 shares, a 4.61-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 18,000 shares. The stock jumped 7.64% to Rs 2,698.50. The stock hit a record high of Rs 2,899 in the intraday trade today, 3 June 2013.
Opto Circuits (India) saw volume of 49.77 lakh shares, a 3.53-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 14.10 lakh shares. The stock surged 5.56% to Rs 33.25 after the company said its group company has entered into a licensing agreement with Biosensors for its drug eluting balloon range used for treatment of peripheral arterial disease.
